write the bad thing. just keep writing. read, too. read a wide variety of books and content, from literary fiction to genre fiction to non-fiction.

how is this actually different than a beta read?
i won't be line editing. instead, i'll be looking at the overall structure of your story, pacing; character motivations, arcs, and growth; plot progression (or lack thereof <3); and the likehow much feedback do i get?
you'll get an edit letter from me which will include sections specifically on character and plot as well as overall impressions. you'll also receive margin comments. i'll focus on what works, what i like, and what confuses mewill you be ripping my fic apart?
probably not, but go into this understanding that a dev edit is meant to cut into the meat and heart of your story, and you may have to rework/rewrite some parts of it as a resultwill you look at original fiction or just fic?

because not only do i have to read x number of pages, i have to read them critically and thoughtfully and prepare feedback that is (hopefully!) actionable for you. that said, these are worst-case scenarios, and you'll probably hear back from me much quicker
